1.ROMANS (11 CR)



Cast : Kunchako Boban,Biju Menon,Niveditha Direction : Boban Samuel

Ordinary in 2012,Romans in 2013 the first hit of the year once again  belonged to Kunchako Boban-Biju Menon duo, this time the second film of Boban Samuel who earlier made Janapriyan.Details here :


2.KAMMATH & KAMMATH     (10.50 CR) 

Cast : Mammootty,Dileep,Baburaj,Karthika,Rima; Direction : Thomson

Expectations ran high when Mammootty and Dileep came together resulting in huge initial collection and a record satellite right.K & K was the first malayalam movie to gross 10 crore in 2013,still its not the first hit of 2013,thanks to the high costs when two superstars come together.It just about did enough business to go above the costs.Details here : 



3.AMEN  (5.50 CR)


 Cast : Indrajith,Fahad,Swati,Kalabhavan Mani Director : Lijo Pellissery

Amen was called a divine comedy,so it was.The climax made all the difference.Lijo Pelissery went one up on his previous efforts.The subtle undertones made you watch the film again.Indrajith & Kalabhavan Mani had one of their best roles of their career,swathi made an impressive debut and fahad had another hit.Details here : 


4.CELLULOID  (5 CR)

 Cast :Prithviraj,Mamta Mohandas,Sreenivasan Director : Kamal

Celluloid told the story of J C Daniel regarded father of Malayalam Cinema and walked away with 7 Kerala State Film Awards and 1 National Award including best actor award for the second time for Prithviraj and a hit for Kamal after a gap.The awards helped in movie's commercial run as well.Details here :


5. 3 DOTS (4.50 CR)

Cast : Kunchacko Boban,Biju Menon,Narain,Pratap Pothen Director :Sugeeth

KB-BM pair came together again, along with Prathap pothen and narain again directed by Sugeeth after blockbuster Ordinary,but could not repeat their earlier success here.Details here :
